Buying guide
Choose a linen cart by what it carries, the heaviest load it takes and the route it drives. Send us those three and we confirm the model before you order.
Load
Our powered linen carts carry 700 to 2,000 lb. The MCSC wire shelf carts carry 1,500 lb, 500 lb per shelf, and the security linen cart carries 2,000 lb. Drive kits for the carts you own move 700 or 1,000 lb, and the powered hospitality cart carries 1,500 lb.
Size the cart for the heaviest load on the hardest route, not the average trip.
Shelves, bins or a locked cabinet
Wire shelves suit clean linen rounds. The MCSC carts come in twelve sizes, 24 or 30 inches wide and 36 to 72 inches long, with 54 or 60 inch shelving and a zippered vinyl cover. The 1070-A carts use adjustable anodized aluminum shelves and are sized for 18 to 50 beds.
Bin carts suit soiled linen and bulk laundry, with bins from 14 to 84 cubic feet. The security linen cart puts three adjustable shelves inside a lockable aluminum cabinet for scrubs, uniforms and controlled stock.
Doors, elevators and ramps
The MCSC carts are 27.5 or 36.5 inches wide and 51 to 84 inches long, so check your narrowest door and the elevator car first. They are rated for ramps up to 15 degrees, and an automatic holding brake keeps a loaded cart from rolling back. The bin carts and the security linen cart are rated for 6 degree inclines.
Batteries and charging
The MCSC carts run up to 8 hours on a 35 Ah AGM battery and recharge in about 4 hours from the onboard charger on a standard 120 or 240 volt outlet. The drive kits run on 24 volt systems, and the retrofit kit also comes as a 36 volt system.

Questions
Can you power the linen carts we already own?
Yes. Drive kits fit housekeeping, linen and soiled linen carts from any maker, and a retrofit kit also powers flatbed and food carts. Laundry bins and security cabinets can be fitted to a powered platform cart. Send photos and sizes of your carts and we confirm what fits.
Should we buy a powered cart or a laundry tugger?
A powered cart carries its own load, one cart at a time. A laundry tugger tows the carts you already have, several at once. The Pony Express 1062-LS tows up to 2,000 lb and the Pony Express 1065-LS up to 5,000 lb on a flat floor.
Do the carts come with covers?
The MCSC wire shelf carts come with a blue vinyl cover that zips closed, and a hook and loop closure is available. The 1070-A aluminum shelf carts also come with a vinyl cover.
Can a linen cart be locked?
The security linen cart has reinforced double doors with a protected pocket for a stainless steel hasp, and a key switch on the drive keeps anyone without the key from driving it.
How many beds does one linen cart serve?
The Pony Express 1070-A carts are sized by beds, from the 1070-A1 for 18 to 24 beds up to the 1070-A8 for 42 to 50 beds per trip. The MCSC wire shelf carts carry 1,500 lb and the security linen cart 2,000 lb.

Most machines go by freight truck from the factory. Parts and smaller items can go by FedEx or UPS. Freight to your ZIP is on your quote before you order. Rush and overnight shipping cost extra. We sell and ship to US addresses only.
What warranty comes with it?
EK Tech covers Pony Express tuggers for 2 years on the frame and drive and 1 year on other parts. For DJ Products and Autoquip equipment, ask us.
