Choose by what the load has to do, how heavy it is and how much floor you can give it. Send us the load and the job and we confirm the model.

Tilt, upend or dump

Tilters angle a container 30 to 90 degrees for loading and unloading. Upenders and rotators turn a load 90 degrees from flat to upright. The high hinge dumper tips its load 120 degrees over a high hinge into a raised bin.

Tilt angle

Standard angles are 30, 45, 89, 90 and 120 degrees. The Series 35 tilter comes at 30, 45 or 90 degrees, and the last digits of its model number give the angle. The Air Force tilters tilt 30 degrees, and the AutoTilt stops at 89 degrees so it does not tip product out. Pick the angle that brings the far side of the bin within reach.

Capacity and floor space

Standard models handle 2,000 to 60,000 lb. Non-intrusive tilters, such as the Tork and the 90 degree rotator, keep the load inside their own footprint. A 90 degree upender needs room for both of its decks. The upender takes up to 60,000 lb for coils and dies, and the Series 35 tilter covers 2,000 to 8,000 lb bins and baskets.

Power

Most tilters are hydraulic. The Air Force tilters run on shop air with no oil, and the AutoTilt runs on a 12 volt battery and rolls between stations. Hydraulic tilters come with controls prewired and the drive on board, so they are lagged to the floor and connected to power.

What to send for a quote

  • The heaviest load and its size, bin, basket, pallet or coil
  • Where its center of gravity sits
  • The tilt angle or the dump height you need
  • The power at the site, or shop air
  • Your delivery ZIP code

Questions

Can a tilter also lift?

Yes. The TiltLift and the Air Force lift and tilt table raise and tilt in one unit. The Series 35 tilter can also mount on a Series 35 lift table, sold as a separate unit.

What does non-intrusive mean?

The platform tilts inside the tilter's own footprint, so the load stays centered over the base frame and the tilter takes less floor space.

What happens if the power fails with a load tilted?

The 90 degree upender and the high hinge dumper have manual override valves that lower a partly tilted load after a power loss.

What is the difference between a tilter and an upender?

A tilter angles a bin or container toward the worker. An upender turns a load 90 degrees from flat to upright, such as a coil or a die, and a dumper tips its load into a raised container. Standard models tilt 30 to 120 degrees and handle 2,000 to 60,000 lb.

How do I get a price?

Call us or send the form. Tell us what you move, the route and your ZIP. We send a written quote with the machine, freight and build time.

How does it arrive?

Most machines go by freight truck from the factory. Parts and smaller items can go by FedEx or UPS. Freight to your ZIP is on your quote before you order. Rush and overnight shipping cost extra. We sell and ship to US addresses only.

What warranty comes with it?

EK Tech covers Pony Express tuggers for 2 years on the frame and drive and 1 year on other parts. For DJ Products and Autoquip equipment, ask us.
