Overview
The Pony Express 1040-E carries up to 1,000 lb on the base deck of the 1040-E series, 24 by 32 inches at a 12 inch height. The deck has a non-skid surface and a wrap around bumper, and it sits 12 inches off the floor.
The 1040-E series is built for routes with ramps. The 1040-E is rated to climb a 15 degree incline with the full 1,000 lb on board. A front wheel transaxle drives the cart, and an automatic holding brake keeps it in place when the operator lets go on a slope.
Two 12 volt 44 Ah AGM batteries are rated for about 8 hours of operation. The charger is built in and recharges the cart from a 120 or 240 volt outlet in about 4 hours.
A thumb wheel sets the speed, up to 3 mph in the high range and 1.5 mph in the low range, forward and reverse. The same drive, battery and controls come on every 1040-E series cart. Only the deck changes, so pick the 1040-E for its deck size.
Standard equipment
- Keyed power switch and horn
- Emergency stop button
- Battery charge indicator
- Regenerative braking and an automatic holding brake
- Wrap around bumper
Questions
How is the 1040-E different from the other 1040-E carts?
Only the deck. Every 1040-E series cart carries 1,000 lb on the same drive, battery and controls. The 1040-E has the base deck of the 1040-E series, 24 by 32 inches at a 12 inch height. The other decks are the 1040-SE, 1040-ME, 1040-LE and 1040-HDE.
What incline can the 1040-E handle?
It is rated for a 15 degree incline with the full 1,000 lb load. The automatic holding brake holds the cart when the operator stops on a slope. Tell us the steepest ramp on the route and we confirm the fit.
How long does the battery last?
About 8 hours of operation on two 12 volt 44 Ah AGM batteries. The onboard charger plugs into a 120 or 240 volt outlet and recharges in about 4 hours.
How fast does it go?
Up to 3 mph in the high range and 1.5 mph in the low range, forward and reverse, set with a thumb wheel on the handle.
How do I get a price?
Call us or send the form. Tell us what you move, the route and your ZIP. We send a written quote with the machine, freight and build time.
How does it arrive?
Most machines go by freight truck from the factory. Parts and smaller items can go by FedEx or UPS. Freight to your ZIP is on your quote before you order. Rush and overnight shipping cost extra. We sell and ship to US addresses only.
