Overview
The Pony Express 1031-SM01 is a motorized cart built for mail and parcel rounds in offices, hospitals, campuses and government buildings. Two welded steel rod baskets ride on top and hold up to 100 hanging letter or legal size folders. The lower deck carries up to 1,500 lb of parcels and trays.
The drive wheel sits under the middle of the cart on a spring suspension, so it turns tight in narrow halls and keeps traction over thresholds, bumps and ramps. The cart is rated for a 6 degree incline.
Variable speed control runs from 0 to 3 mph with a high and low speed switch, forward and reverse. Regenerative braking slows the cart and an automatic holding brake keeps it in place on a slope.
AGM batteries and the charger are on board, so the cart charges from a 120 or 240 volt outlet. It is rated for about 8 hours of operation per charge.
