Buying guide
Pick a trailer dolly by the loaded trailer weight, the tongue weight and the hitch. Send us those and we confirm the model.
Trailer weight
The dollies here move trailers from 10,000 to 100,000 lb. The TrailerCaddy trailer puller pulls up to 10,000 lb, and the powered dollies pull ball coupler and king pin trailers up to 20,000 lb.
The 6K 36V, the 15K 36V and the HD chain drive DOD move up to 50,000 lb. The 6K 48V, the 15K 48V and the Terminal Tractor move up to 100,000 lb.
Tongue weight and hitch
The tongue rests on the dolly, so its weight sets the lift you need. The trailer puller has no standard lift and takes a 3,000 lb lift kit as an option. The DOD powered dolly lifts up to 3,000 lb, the 6K models up to 6,000 lb and the 15K models up to 15,000 lb.
Ball, pintle and king pin hitches are offered. The king pin attachment takes fifth wheel trailers, and an air brake release kit is an option on the heaviest models.
Batteries and ground
36 volt models run three batteries and 48 volt models run four, and the 48 volt 15K takes eight. Choose 48 volts for the heaviest trailers and the longest shifts.
The trailer puller and the powered dollies work off pavement, on gravel, snow, ice and grass. The 15K 48V and the Terminal Tractor roll on 18 inch solid tread tires for yard and dock work.

Questions
How fast do trailer dollies move?
The heavy models run at 0 to 2 mph and the trailer puller at up to 3 mph, so the operator walks alongside at a careful pace.
When is the Terminal Tractor the better choice?
When you spot semi trailers at dock doors all day. It has a king pin receiver and hydraulic lift as standard and four drive tires.
Will a dolly hold a trailer on a slope?
The trailer puller has an electric brake that holds trailers on inclines. Give us the slope and we confirm the model for it.
Can a dolly be shipped overseas?
Yes. Order AGM batteries, which are needed for overseas shipment on the models that list them.
How heavy a trailer can a powered dolly move?
The trailer puller moves trailers to 10,000 lb, the 2.5K and the DOD dolly 20,000 lb, the 6K 36V, the 15K 36V and the chain drive HD 50,000 lb, and the 6K 48V and 15K 48V dollies 100,000 lb semi trailers. Give us the loaded trailer weight and the surface.
